Briery Wood Country House Hotel is located close to Lake Windermere and makes a great venue for smaller weddings. Lauren and Lee love the Lake District with a passion for walking the many hills, mountains and fells so wanted their day to reflect this.
like most who book me they wanted photography that captured the real day rather than posing from start to finish. They wanted to feel the day again when they looked through their final collection. this is something i strive to deliver every wedding. a wedding isn’t a photoshoot. it is a day to be truly present, feel and enjoy with those who are with you.
bridal and groom prep all took place within the hotel. the bridal party was a whirl of hair, make up, breakfast and fun. the whole party had been friends for years since high school and this connection made the whole morning incredibly good fun. Groom prep was awash with youtube videos about windsor knots and pocket squares as well as aftershave and gift giving.
lauren looked incredible as she walked into the ceremony played in by Sarah Davies Harpist. there were tears of joy as she walked down the aisle and a beautifully poignant moment when she went over to her mom before arriving at the front and a waiting lee.
lauren and lee couldn’t hide the smiles as they went through the ceremony. a few word slips during the vows had everyone creased up whilst other moments of deep sincerity had guests reaching for tissues.
After the ceremony and a small number of group photos we headed over to Lake Windermere and grabbed a few relaxed couples photos before heading back to Briery Wood to get a few more. Then it was into the wedding breakfast and speeches.
Father of the bride, the two best men and the groom all did a stirling job of recounting stories that could only be told at a wedding. Huge laughs and some embarrassment set a tone for the wedding breakfast. Guests were treated to more sonic atmosphere from Sarah Davies Harpist through out. Then Zanda Magic started his entertainment blowing minds with incredible close up magic.
Into the evening live music kept the dance floor bouncing for many hours before a final sparklers send off.
