I had the great pleasure of photographing Hannah and Thomas on their wedding day at the very beautiful Samlesbury Hall as one of my first weddings outside of the covid lockdowns. To be back photographing weddings as we had known them was an incredible feeling shared by the couple and guests.
The day started with bridal prep in The Gatehouse which had been recently refurbished and made an excellent space for the bride and bridal party to get ready. Everyone looked stunning as Megan Marie Hair Design worked her hair magic along side the make up artist. There was a lot of laughter through out the morning. the father of the bride arrived for his first look and to escort the bridal party to the main hall and The emotions took over for a few moments as he looked at Hannah with nothing but pride.
Samlesbury Hall has some really unique halls to have a wedding ceremony in and the one used on this day was no exception. The bride walked in to the hall looking elegant as her soon to be husband waited nervously at the front. As soon as they saw each other the smiles and then tears took over and the ceremony began. It was beautiful to see two people coming together in this way with so many friends and family watching on.
After the ceremony there was confetti and drinks out on the lawn followed by a small number of group photos. The sun shone and everyone enjoyed the excellent outdoor space both on the lawn and in the courtyard. Again, so much fun and lots of laughter took over.
Going into the wedding breakfast the speeches went down a treat. Some heart felt words were spoken, some jokes were told and some embarrassments shared mainly at Toms expense. One of the threads that ran through the whole day was joy. Everyone was so involved in having fun and making the day amazing for Hannah and Tom.
Later the party started with Hannah and Toms first dance and then the DJ got the tunes rolling. The dance floor stayed filled right up to my time to leave and it was great to again see the fun everyone was having.
