The Ashes Barns: Laura & Kyle Wedding
The wedding day of Laura and Kyle took place at the fantastic The Ashes Barns. An amazing venue it was the perfect setting for the happy couple to stand before family and friends and declare their love for each other. Lots of laughter, banter and fun filled the day but the deep love these two have for each other was unmistakable.
Starting the day early I met up with the bride and her party at Greenway Cottage; a few miles away from The Ashes Barns. Breakfast was being finished with hair and make up getting started as I began capturing the story of the day. Make up was provided by the award winning Joanna Daines with hair sculpted by Copper Top Hairdressing. Children playing, hair spray spraying and make up applying it was all go in the cottage. Soon enough it was time to move location.
We all arrived at The Ashes Barns to complete getting ready and headed straight to the Dressing Room. Hair and make up got set up, drinks got poured and the preparation cracked on. Laura got some important ‘How To Hold Your Flowers’ help from the lovely Flowers on The Cobbles as they delivered the beautiful flowers.
Across the courtyard the men had arrived. It was at this point that they realised how hard it can be to tie a Winchester. Kyle, stepped up and got the groomsmen ready. Not sure it is usually this way round but worked for them. A tight group these guys bantered their way through getting ready.
Back in the Dressing Room the ladies were getting their final touches sorted. Laura, helped by her sister and mother, got her beautiful dress on, from The Confetti Box, and given the once over…..three or four times. She looked every bit the beautiful bride of the day and I couldn’t wait to see Kyle’s reaction when he saw her for the first time.
In the ceremony hall at The Ashes Barns everyone had gathered, with Kyle and his groomsmen waiting at the top of the aisle. No nerves at all and some excitement fizzed at the front. Kyle just couldn’t wait for what was to come with many quick glances to the back trying to get any sneaky glimpse he could. Finally the gathered friends and family were asked to rise ready for the bride.
All of the bridal party looked truly magnificent as they walked in ahead of Laura. As she started her walk in Kyle’s eyes lit up and they didn’t leave her until she stood next to him; and the celebrant asked everyone to be seated. Heartfelt vows were said, rings were shared and moving, tear filled words of joy were spoken before they were finally pronounced Mr and Mrs and kissed. Looking a mix of jubilant, joyful and triumphant they processed back down the aisle to the smiles and kind words of their gathered friends and family. Much confetti was thrown as they walked.
After a short time chatting with friends and family we headed outside for the group photographs, which were great fun, and then on to a few photographs of Laura and Kyle alone before the wedding breakfast.
Introduced by the chief bridesmaid the father of the bride shared his pride of all Laura is and a few funny stories from her life before the mic got passed on. Receiving the mic Kyle got the laughter going and gave everyone fair warning that the best man is known to be a creative liar. As he drew his speech to a close, toasting the beautiful Laura the mic was reluctantly handed over to the best man. A great storyteller the best man ‘enlightened’ all to some of the history of the great couple. A final toast was made and food was served.
As the wedding breakfast drew to a close the phenomenal magician Jester Styles walked around the tables blowing the minds of many guests with his close up magic. A great entertainer he had many a mouth agape in awe. He finished his entertainment by performing a series of close up magic tricks for the couple.
It had now turned dark outside so we headed outside for a few final couples portraits using the night as our backdrop. Both Laura and Kyle were great sports as it was getting colder but we kept ourselves outside for the shortest time possible before going inside and starting the party.
Following the first dance a live band got everyone up and pounding on the dance floor. Loads of great tunes mixed up with so much energy had the floor well filled by the time I left.
Here are some of the photographs from this glorious day. Congratulations to Laura and Kyle.
