The Wedding Chapel Blackpool: Sarah & Andrew Wedding

December the 28th saw the wedding of Sarah and Andrew at the unique Wedding Chapel on Blackpool promenade. With the backdrop of Blackpool Tower on one side and the sea on the other guests arrived along with the groom. Andrew looked dapper in his blue suit and bow tie and carried himself with eagerness to marry his soul mate.

Experienced help was needed to get the flowers attached to lapels; then all guests and the groom waited for the bride. A few times Andrew went to look out of the picture window at the head of the room but stopped himself and was heard muttering, “Can’t see her until she walks in here.”

Arriving downstairs from the upstairs ceremonies room she radiated her excitement for this day. Wearing a 50’s styled wedding dress and a fusion hair style between 50’s and punk she looked amazing. Along wih her father they took the lift to the ceremonies room.

As the bride walked into the room Andrew turned and saw her for the first time and the smile didn’t leave his eyes for the rest of the day. Equally Sarah looked so happy and together they took their vows, made their promises, had a very, very long first kiss (after a quick sneaky one when she arrived to stand at his side) and headed out after signing the register.

Both the newlyweds and I headed out onto the deck of the Wedding Chapel and spent a little while getting some portraits of them together before heading out to the tram stop outside the venue. Not a couple who like waste there was no confetti but the cheering as they walked out to get the tram was brilliant.

Sarah flagged the tram down and we all got on board. The tram was a vintage double decker and an amazing idea to add something a little more unique to their wedding. Beers were opened and the party started. We nipped upstairs to the back of the tram for a few brief minutes and captured a few more portraits.

40 minutes later we arrived back at the venue. Everyone headed for the reception and we took a slightly different route to take in an amazing local bar down an alley. Owned by a friend Dirty Blondes is one of Blackpools great secrets. We got a few final portraits outside the bar.

An amazing wedding between two awesome people.
